The film, directed by Shaniel Deo, pairs Sesh with Mrunal Thakur in a romantic revenge drama that has quickly become the talk of the town. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang, Dacoit was made on a sizeable ₹65 crore budget. However, the producers breathed a sigh of relief even before release, having secured nearly ₹48 crore through digital, satellite, and audio rights. This left only ₹17 crore to be recovered theatrically—a goal the film surpassed with ease, grossing nearly ₹40 crore worldwide in just three days.
Trade analysts were caught off guard by the film’s rapid box office recovery and strong audience turnout, particularly in A centres and overseas markets. The positive word of mouth from the first show propelled Dacoit’s momentum, with more than 113,000 tickets reportedly sold on BookMyShow in the last 24 hours alone. While a few regions are still catching up, the overall performance has delighted producers, distributors, and exhibitors alike. Notable supporting performances from Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni, and Sunil, along with a rousing score by Bheems Ceciroleo and Gyaani, have added further appeal.
With solid weekday trends expected and profits already locked in for most stakeholders, Dacoit is poised to sustain its box office run. Fans can look forward to continued strong collections and industry watchers are eager to see how long the film’s winning streak lasts.
