Baahubali The Epic soars again in re-release glory
Prabhas’s iconic film Baahubali The Epic has once again proven its unassailable box office power, as it leads the re-release wave with a staggering gross of over ₹50 crore. Years after its original debut, the film helmed by visionary director S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Arka Media Works has drawn crowds reminiscent of its first run, with fans reliving the spectacle in packed theatres.
While Rajamouli is known for his grand storytelling and blockbuster hits, Baahubali remains his crowning achievement. The film’s visuals, emotional depth, and powerful background score continue to mesmerise audiences, setting it apart from recent re-releases. As per reports, no other film has come close to Baahubali’s double-digit re-release gross, with titles like Murari, Khaleja, and Darling finishing below ₹10 crore despite strong opening day collections.
Other fan favourites such as Jalsa, Pokiri, and Kushi have also created festive atmospheres in theatres during their re-releases, but none have reached Baahubali’s monumental success. The phenomenon is echoed across languages, with classics like Sholay and Ghilli drawing crowds, though not at the same scale. "Crossing 5 crore from a re-release is a big win," as per industry sources, but Baahubali stands in a league of its own.
With the re-release trend keeping theatre culture vibrant, all eyes are now on which film if any might someday break Baahubali’s towering record.
