Kiran Abbavaram's latest release, Chennai Love Story, has delivered impressive box office numbers across the Telugu states, despite opening to mixed reviews. Riding high on a recent string of hits, Abbavaram once again proves his growing box office appeal. The film, directed by Ravi Namburi and featuring Sri Gouri Priya as the leading lady, has been praised for the lead performances. Produced by SKN and Sai Rajesh, the movie saw exceptional weekend collections, with trade circles noting its strong reach in both single screens and multiplexes.

In contrast, Vijay's Jana Nayagan, which released amid significant expectations, could not sustain its initial momentum. After a decent start, the film quickly lost audience interest due to negative word of mouth. As a result, screening slots in Telugu states were swiftly replaced by Chennai Love Story. According to reports, "the numbers fell down over the weekend because of the poor word of mouth."

Meanwhile, Hollywood's The Odyssey continues its dream run in Indian multiplexes, drawing packed houses into its second weekend, especially in premium formats. Other new and smaller films released this weekend failed to make an impact, with trade analysts closely watching Chennai Love Story's Monday occupancy to gauge its staying power.
