Chandan Anand and Shobhinav Satyaa’s Hindi devotional drama Hanuman Ansh has stunned the Bollywood box office with an extraordinary turnaround in its third week. Despite a modest opening, the film, directed and written by Vishal Chaturvedi, has become a talking point for its unexpected surge in collections.
Hanuman Ansh initially struggled to find its footing, collecting only about ₹1.5 crore nett over its first two weeks. The film, produced by Swambhu Media Network Pvt. Ltd. along with Ragini S., Namrata G. S., and Anupriya A. Nagar, faced stiff competition from new releases and lost several screens. However, positive word-of-mouth and renewed interest led to a remarkable comeback, with the film’s third-week earnings soaring to an estimated ₹10 crore nett. This represents a staggering 2150% growth compared to its second week, a rare feat in recent Bollywood history.
On its fourth Friday, Hanuman Ansh reportedly brought in around ₹6 crore nett, with projections suggesting the fourth weekend could close at approximately ₹24 crore nett. These figures, while still estimates, highlight the film’s growing popularity and the impact of extended theatrical runs in the post-pandemic era. The cast also features Nikhil Dubey, Udaysinh Rajput, and Purnima Tiwari in pivotal roles.
Industry observers have pointed out that Bollywood’s longer OTT window has allowed films like Hanuman Ansh to build momentum over time, especially when the content resonates with audiences. The devotional theme and strong performances have contributed to the film’s sustained interest, making it a standout example of box office resilience in 2026.
