Tharun Bhascker’s latest film Gaayapadda Simham and Satya-starrer Jetlee are facing a rocky run after their recent release. Both Telugu films, despite their initial buzz, have encountered disappointing box office numbers and tepid audience interest.

Tharun Bhascker, celebrated for his impressive directorial debut with Pelli Choopulu and youth favorite Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, has recently shifted focus to full-fledged acting roles. His ventures into acting included notable appearances in Mahanati, Falaknuma Das, and Meeku Maathrame Cheptha. However, his most recent outings, especially Gaayapadda Simham (directed by Kasyap Srinivas), have failed to draw crowds, with reports of show cancellations in B and C centers due to lack of turnout. Meanwhile, Jetlee, helmed by Ritesh Rana and featuring Satya, is also struggling to maintain momentum, with Sunday being considered a last hope for a meaningful boost before the typical weekday drop.

Despite strong promotional efforts, Gaayapadda Simham is reportedly "heading towards a huge disaster" and may not even recover its digital expenses, as per sources. The team’s decision to conduct a success tour has left many industry watchers surprised, given the lackluster reception. Social media buzz has been minimal, reflecting the films’ poor performance.

Looking ahead, industry insiders suggest Tharun Bhascker may take a break from acting and turn his attention back to direction, a move many fans hope will mark a return to form.
