Varun Tej’s Korean Kanakaraju Delivers Career-Best Opening

Varun Tej’s latest horror comedy Korean Kanakaraju has stormed the box office, grossing a remarkable ₹23.6 crore worldwide within just two days of release. This achievement marks Varun Tej’s strongest box office opening to date, a significant turnaround after his recent films received mixed responses.

Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainments, the film has drawn enthusiastic crowds thanks to lively word of mouth and strong advance bookings. The first day alone saw a gross of over ₹10.2 crore, outpacing Varun Tej’s previous best, Gaddalakonda Ganesh. In the USA, Korean Kanakaraju has already crossed $175K, indicating strong overseas appeal as well.

Ritika Nayak stars alongside Varun Tej, with Satya, Muralidhar Goud, Chinna, and Srinivas Avasarala in key roles. The music, composed by Thaman, has also received a positive response. Over 2.5 lakh tickets have been sold through BookMyShow and District App, and the buzz continues to build with a holiday on Monday for Bonalu expected to further boost collections. The makers officially announced, "Korean Kanakaraju grossed ₹23.6 crore worldwide in its first two days."
