Samantha's latest family entertainer, Maa Inti Bangaaram, has found itself at the center of heated discussions regarding box office transparency in the Telugu film industry. The film, which released amidst notable anticipation and follows Samantha's recent streak of much-talked-about projects, has now become a focal point for longstanding exhibitor-producer tensions.

According to reports, a major Hyderabad-based theatre allegedly underreported ticket sales for Maa Inti Bangaaram, selling 302 tickets for a particular show but only declaring 227 to the producers. This incident occurred at Sai Baba Theatre in Shadnagar, which is operated by a prominent distribution chain known for running large multiplexes. The discrepancy has amplified concerns among producers, especially at a time when digital streaming deals are declining and theatrical revenues are crucial.

Producers and distributors have reportedly struggled for years to ensure accurate box office reporting. While exhibitors have been pushing for a shift to the percentage revenue model, industry insiders now question the fairness of such demands when transparency remains elusive. As one source put it, "It is directly exploiting the producer."

With leading Tollywood producers increasingly wary of the percentage system, the industry is now facing mounting pressure to address these trust issues. All eyes are on the promised industry-wide resolution expected by the end of June.
