Raja Shivaji storms past Sairat, sets new box office record
Riteish Deshmukh’s magnum opus, Raja Shivaji, has rewritten the history books for Marathi cinema after a resounding box office run. The film, with Deshmukh both starring and directing, has now surpassed the iconic Sairat to emerge as the highest-grossing Marathi film ever.
Coming off a successful streak in both acting and production, Deshmukh’s ambitious project crossed the ₹100 crore mark globally, making it only the second Marathi title to reach this milestone.
