Ram Pothineni and Anupama Parameswaran's popular Telugu film Hello Guru Premakosame was recently remade in Hindi as Tera Yaar Hoon Main. The Hindi version, which marked the acting debut of director Indra Kumar's son Aman Indra Kumar, has struggled to find an audience since its release.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, Tera Yaar Hoon Main features Akanksha Sharma in the lead role, with veteran actors Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Mrinal Kulkarni playing key characters. Despite this ensemble cast and the original film's popularity, the remake has failed to make an impact at the box office.
Trade reports indicate that the film has collected only ₹56 lakhs nett so far, a figure considered extremely low for a Bollywood release. The availability of the original Telugu film's Hindi-dubbed version on YouTube may have contributed to the remake's poor performance, as audiences had already accessed the story online.
Critical reception has also been harsh, with negative reviews further dampening the film's prospects. The combination of weak collections and poor word-of-mouth has made it difficult for Tera Yaar Hoon Main to recover, despite the efforts of its cast and crew.
