Ravi Teja's Irumudi Leads Telugu Box Office, Suriya's Film Nears OTT Debut

Ravi Teja's film Irumudi continued its impressive performance in the Telugu states, recording the highest footfalls over the weekend and outshining all new releases. After a strong second week, Irumudi's third weekend saw packed theatres, confirming the film's ongoing popularity among audiences.

Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga lent his support to Romanchakam, a romantic entertainer. Despite his backing, the film received a lukewarm response from viewers and is expected to end its run as a disappointment. Allari Naresh, returning to comedy with Rambha Oorvashi Menaka, could not recreate his earlier magic. The film's outdated content led to below-average collections, though there was a slight uptick in numbers on Sunday.

Sahaa, another small-budget release, attracted attention before release due to bold statements from its lead actors. However, the film failed to connect with audiences and joins the list of underperformers this weekend. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, originally a Malayalam hit, expanded to Telugu and Tamil screens with minimal promotion. Despite this, it performed well in urban centres and multiplexes.

Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons, which had previously drawn family crowds, is nearing the end of its theatrical journey. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, will begin streaming on Netflix next week, as its presence in cinemas winds down. In contrast, Yash's Toxic could not sustain momentum and will also conclude its theatrical run soon due to poor collections and the arrival of new films.

In the North Indian market, Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur recorded strong weekend footfalls, highlighting a vibrant box office beyond the Telugu industry.
