Harsh Roshan’s latest romantic entertainer, Thella Kaagitham, emerged as the top performer among new Telugu releases during the Gandhi Jayanthi weekend. Known for his work in Court, Harsh Roshan took the lead in this film, which managed to attract steady audiences despite stiff competition.

The weekend saw several films hitting the screens, including Don’t Trouble The Trouble, produced by Karthikeya—son of acclaimed director Rajamouli—and starring Fahadh Faasil. Sundeep Kishan’s Sigma, directed by Jason Vijay, was also released alongside other smaller projects. However, most of these films failed to make an impact at the box office, with Thella Kaagitham being the notable exception.

Don’t Trouble The Trouble faced a disappointing response, with reports indicating that audiences largely stayed away. The film struggled from its premiere, and word of mouth was particularly negative, making it a setback for Karthikeya in his debut as a producer. Sigma and other releases similarly failed to gain traction, with poor reception affecting their weekend collections.

In contrast, Thella Kaagitham maintained decent performance throughout the weekend, standing out as the only new release to sustain audience interest. Meanwhile, Nani’s The Paradise continued its run in the Nizam region, showing stable numbers, though it did not see growth in Andhra Pradesh.

The Gandhi Jayanthi holiday period typically boosts box office numbers, but this year, only Thella Kaagitham managed to benefit significantly, highlighting the film’s stronger reception compared to its peers.
