Akhil Akkineni Opens Up on Injury Ahead of Lenin Release

Akhil Akkineni, who last appeared in the action film "Agent", has finally addressed the long gap in his career while promoting his upcoming movie "Lenin". The actor candidly shared that an unexpected and serious injury forced him into a 16-month hiatus, right after "Agent" failed to meet expectations at the box office.

During the promotional events for "Lenin", Akhil detailed the ordeal that kept him away from the limelight. He explained that he slipped on a wet bathroom floor, resulting in a severe accident that required two surgeries on his left hand. "I had an injury and it took 16 months for me to recover completely from the injury," Akhil revealed. He further described how the accident, which happened four months after "Agent" released, left him with 48 stitches and complicated micro surgeries on his fingers. The recovery process was long and arduous, as he mentioned, "For 7-8 months, I could not lift any weights. It took 16 months to completely recover from the injury."

"Lenin", directed by Murali Kishor Abburu and jointly produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and S Naga Vamsi, also features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. Akhil expressed his apologies for the unexpected break and acknowledged that both personal reasons and circumstances beyond his control contributed to his absence.

With "Lenin" slated for release on July 10th, fans are eager to see Akhil’s comeback on the big screen. The actor’s openness about his struggles has already generated a positive response on social media, and all eyes are now on how "Lenin" will perform at the box office.
