Chiranjeevi leads Telugu film industry to unity in producer-exhibitor clash
Megastar Chiranjeevi has once again demonstrated his commanding presence in Tollywood by stepping in to resolve the escalating dispute between producers and exhibitors. His latest leadership move comes on the heels of continued admiration for his contributions both on and off screen, further cementing his legacy as a pillar of the industry.
With tensions rising over the profit-sharing model and rental systems, Chiranjeevi personally intervened, steering all parties toward a consensus. He rallied producers, exhibitors, and the Film Chamber, guiding them to unanimously accept the formation of a committee to address grievances. Notably, Chiranjeevi assured everyone involved that he would "personally monitor the progress to ensure a definitive resolution is passed by June 30th," as per reports.
Until the committee's verdict is reached, the current rental arrangement will remain intact, offering stability for all stakeholders. In addition, any ticket price hikes granted to major films during this period will see 7.5% of the extra revenue go directly to exhibitors—a move seen as both fair and forward-thinking. Industry members have lauded Chiranjeevi's dignified approach and his commitment to clear communication.
With this crisis averted, all eyes are now on the committee's June resolution, as Chiranjeevi continues to champion unity and progress for Telugu cinema.
