Popular influencer Vishnupriya Bheemineni has landed in controversy, with a cyber crime case registered against her at the Vijayawada Cyber Crime Police Station. Known for her active social media presence in recent years, Vishnupriya has garnered a significant following through her posts and subscription-based content model.
The complaint was filed by the All India Students Federation (AISF), which alleged that Vishnupriya has been sharing obscene and semi-nude material on her Instagram account. According to AISF representatives, such content is not only misleading to the youth but could also have a negative impact on young audiences. They emphasized that public figures and influencers should "follow responsible standards when sharing content online," as per their statements.
AISF further expressed concerns regarding her monetization strategy, claiming that collecting money for such posts may run afoul of existing laws. The organization has called on authorities to take swift action, including the blocking of Vishnupriya’s Instagram account to halt further circulation of the alleged content.
With the complaint now formally registered, the Vijayawada Cyber Crime Police have begun their investigation. Officials are expected to determine the next steps as the inquiry progresses, and updates from the authorities are awaited in the coming days.
