Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has formally requested the Uttar Pradesh government to allocate 5 to 10 acres of land in Ayodhya for the construction of a Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) temple. The proposal was made during the Varanasi-Vadnagar Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Naidu highlighted the spiritual connection between Ayodhya and Tirupati, two of India's most significant pilgrimage destinations. He stated, "Lord Rama is the deity of Treta Yuga and Lord Venkateswara is the deity of Kali Yuga. We want to build a Lord Venkateswara temple in Ayodhya. I request the Chief Minister to allot 5 to 10 acres." This move aims to bring together the spiritual heritage of both regions.
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya a reality, calling Modi the "right leader at the right time." Naidu emphasized the importance of unity within the NDA alliance and urged that national interest should take precedence over political differences.
In his address, Naidu revisited his long-standing vision of interlinking major rivers across India, including the Brahmaputra, Ganga, Mahanadi, Godavari, and Cauvery. He expressed confidence that this ambitious project could be accomplished under Modi's leadership, describing it as a catalyst for India's development.
Naidu also touched upon national security, referencing Operation Sindoor and the government's efforts against Left-Wing Extremism. He recalled surviving a Maoist attack and noted the improved security situation. Before the event, Naidu, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, and Yogi Adityanath, offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
