Pawan Kalyan Reveals Admiration for Recent Hindi Cinema

Pawan Kalyan, who currently serves as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, made headlines by sharing his admiration for two recent Hindi films, Dhurandhar and Baramulla. In a candid interview, Pawan was asked about the growing trend of nationalistic storytelling in cinema. He responded by highlighting these films, reflecting his keen interest in contemporary Hindi movies.

Pawan Kalyan, known for his dynamic roles in Telugu cinema and his recent political resurgence, spoke fondly about his own experiences in Srinagar during the late 1980s. Recalling the tense atmosphere of those days, he mentioned, “During 1987-89, I was in Srinagar. Many Telugu films were shot there. A hostile situation existed back then, and some people used to ask me why I was in Srinagar. We would go shopping during shooting schedules, and some people would heckle us.”

Baramulla, one of Pawan’s favorites, is penned by Aditya Dhar, who also helmed the acclaimed Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh. The supernatural horror thriller Baramulla is directed by Aditya Suhas, with Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli in the lead. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Baramulla is currently streaming on Netflix, drawing attention for its gripping narrative and powerful performances.

With Pawan Kalyan’s endorsement, both films are likely to see renewed interest among Telugu audiences. Fans can expect more such cross-industry conversations as Indian cinema continues to evolve and connect diverse audiences.
