Pawan Kalyan Drives ₹30.66 Cr Temple Development in Pithapuram

Pawan Kalyan, serving as Deputy Chief Minister and MLA from Pithapuram, has placed temple infrastructure at the heart of his constituency's development agenda. Fresh from his 2024 electoral victory, Kalyan is channeling ₹30.66 crore towards enhancing Pithapuram’s spiritual landscape, a move that underscores both cultural preservation and economic potential.

According to official allocations, ₹17.06 crore is designated for the renovation and development of 24 temples across the region. In addition, 48 Bhajan Mandirs will benefit from ₹11.60 crore, while ₹2 crore is set aside for the construction of a TTD Kalyana Mandapam. This comprehensive package is intended to improve facilities for the steady stream of devotees visiting Pithapuram, a town renowned for the Sri Kukkuteswara Swamy temple and its historic link to Sripada Srivallabha, revered as the first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya.

The approach goes beyond simple restoration, aiming to strengthen the broader spiritual ecosystem of Pithapuram. By investing in both temples and community spaces like Bhajan Mandirs, the initiative seeks to boost religious tourism and, by extension, support local businesses such as transport operators, traders, hotels, and restaurants that depend on pilgrim traffic.

The development package also signals Pawan Kalyan’s intent to align constituency progress with Pithapuram’s established spiritual identity, leveraging its religious heritage as a foundation for economic and social growth.
