Ranveer Singh Ban Lifted by FWICE Amid Don 3 Dispute Resolution
Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has had the ban imposed on him by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) officially lifted, bringing closure to a controversy that recently stirred the Hindi film industry. The issue centered around creative and financial disagreements relating to Don 3, a highly-anticipated project announced in August 2023, which has yet to begin filming.
Ranveer Singh, known for his dynamic roles and recent string of box office successes, chose to seek legal recourse after FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive following a reported dispute with director Farhan Akhtar and the production house over changes to Don 3's script. Sources indicate that while Ranveer was initially said to have agreed to the project's terms, subsequent disagreements led to the production house investing heavily before complications arose. The makers reportedly demanded ₹45 crores in compensation, prompting FWICE to ban the actor on May 25th.
Amidst mounting social media speculation and industry chatter, Ranveer's legal team issued a notice to FWICE, leading to swift developments. In a press conference, FWICE President BN Tiwari declared, "We take back the non-cooperation directive that was announced earlier from this moment itself." The Producers Guild had previously cautioned industry members against actions that could financially harm producers.
With the ban now revoked, Ranveer Singh is yet to comment publicly. Meanwhile, he is moving forward with pre-production for his upcoming zombie thriller Pralay, which is scheduled to commence filming in August. Fans can look forward to updates as this ambitious project takes shape.
