Samantha Reveals Motherhood Came as a Surprise During Maa Inti Bangaaram Shoot

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, fresh off the success of her Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaaram, has opened up about her pregnancy, revealing that motherhood was an unexpected turn in her life. The actress, who married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in December 2025, shared that she and Raj had not planned for a child at a specific time and were open to either outcome. This made the news of her pregnancy a genuine surprise for the couple.

Samantha discovered she was expecting while filming the energetic Thassadiya song for Maa Inti Bangaaram, directed by Nandini Reddy. She recounted that she had just learned about her pregnancy and was dealing with sickness during the shoot, but she continued to perform and completed her dance sequences. "Having a child was not something we had planned in a fixed manner," Samantha said, reflecting on how she and Raj approached the decision with an open mind.

The actress officially confirmed her pregnancy in June after being seen with a baby bump at a Maa Inti Bangaaram event. She emphasized that while becoming a parent brings significant changes, she is determined not to put unnecessary pressure on herself during this phase. Samantha also acknowledged that embracing motherhood is a major shift, but she feels ready for the journey ahead.

Samantha and Raj Nidimoru previously collaborated professionally on The Family Man 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny before their relationship turned personal. As Maa Inti Bangaaram continued its strong box office run earlier this year, Samantha’s announcement added another layer of excitement for her fans.
