SS Rajamouli, fresh off his global triumphs, is back at the helm with the much-awaited 'Varanasi,' a film that’s already making waves for its scale and ambition. With Mahesh Babu leading an ensemble that includes Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, expectations are sky-high as the team aims for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027.

But the industry grapevine has it that the Hyderabad shoot has run into a splash of trouble quite literally. Reportedly, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board turned down the production’s request for a whopping 150 water tankers, citing the city’s soaring summer demand. This has caused delays on set, and it remains to be seen how Rajamouli’s team will navigate this logistical hiccup.

Adding to the global flavour, co-producer SS Karthikeya recently confirmed that 'Varanasi' will also hit screens in Spanish, hinting at the film’s international ambitions. With R Madhavan and Prakash Raj joining the stellar cast and MM Keeravani composing the music, the buzz suggests that, despite the current hurdles, this Sri Durga Arts production is shaping up to be a cinematic spectacle worth waiting for.
