Veteran Actress Pavala Shyamala Passes Away at 70, Telugu Industry Mourns

As per sources, the 70-year-old actress suffered a cardiac arrest around 1:52 AM while undergoing treatment for multiple health issues. Her mortal remains have been moved to the hospital mortuary, and her final rites are expected to take place later today.

Pavala Shyamala's journey in the arts began on stage and radio, long before she made her silver screen debut with 'Babai Abbai' in 1985. Over nearly four decades, she became a familiar face in Telugu cinema, appearing in more than 250 films. The buzz suggests that her effortless comic timing and memorable roles in movies like 'Babai Hotel', 'Khadgam', 'Andhrawala', 'Athadu', 'Golimaar', and 'Bendu Apparao R.M.P.' made her a household name. The unique prefix 'Pavala' was reportedly adopted after a stage play brought her early acclaim.
