12 Weapons Including AK-47s Stolen from Madras Regiment in Secunderabad

A major security breach has been reported at the Madras Regiment premises in Secunderabad, where twelve weapons, including AK-47 rifles and pistols, went missing from a highly secured Army storage room. The incident came to light on August 30, when Army officials discovered the lock of the storage facility broken and several firearms unaccounted for.

According to details provided by Army authorities, the missing arsenal includes four AK-47 rifles, six pistols, one INSAS rifle, and a significant quantity of ammunition. While the official count lists twelve missing weapons, specific details have so far been confirmed for eleven of them. The theft was promptly reported to the Bolarum Police on August 31, leading to the registration of a formal case and the launch of an intensive investigation.

Given the restricted access and stringent security protocols at the Army facility, police investigators immediately began scrutinizing CCTV footage, entry and exit logs, and questioning armoury staff and security personnel. Early findings have led police to rule out the possibility of outsiders being involved in the theft. Instead, the focus has shifted to the likelihood that Army personnel from another regiment may have accessed the storage area and removed the weapons.

Investigators are currently examining records to determine whether the stolen arms were taken out of the premises or simply relocated within the facility without proper documentation. The circumstances surrounding the broken lock and the disappearance of the weapons remain under active investigation, with Bolarum Police continuing their probe based on the Army's complaint.
