Aamir Khan in Talks for Race Franchise Reboot with Vijay Krishna Acharya

Aamir Khan is now in discussions to join the Race franchise, marking a potential new direction for the popular Bollywood thriller series. Known for his meticulous approach to film projects, Aamir has reportedly responded positively to the script of the proposed Race reboot and is actively participating in the writing process. This development comes as producer Ramesh Taurani aims to revitalize the franchise with fresh ideas and a new cast.

The Race series, which began with Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, and Katrina Kaif under the direction of Abbas-Mustan, later featured Salman Khan in Race 3, helmed by Remo D’Souza. After the third installment, Taurani decided to overhaul the franchise, with earlier reports indicating Saif Ali Khan's return for Race 4 and Sidharth Malhotra being considered. Now, the involvement of Aamir Khan has shifted the conversation, with sources indicating that Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff have also been approached and have heard the script.

Vijay Krishna Acharya, who previously directed Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3 and collaborated with him on Tashan as a writer, is set to direct the reboot. According to reports, Aamir is working closely with the writers before making a final decision on his participation. The project is still in its early stages, and no official casting announcements have been made yet. Ramesh Taurani's vision is to bring a new energy to the Race brand, with a focus on a fresh ensemble and innovative storytelling.
