Abhiram Naidu, director of the Telugu film Happy Journey, opened up about the unexpected hurdles his team faced while filming abroad. Known for his recent work guiding a group of women on a Paris trip in this project, Abhiram reflected on the production's turbulent moments during a recent press meet.
The director recounted how the Paris schedule was thrown into chaos due to war-like situations in Dubai. "After reaching Paris, we faced an unexpected setback when our flights were cancelled amid the war-like situations in Dubai, forcing us to keep shifting our shooting locations," Abhiram said. This disruption led to frequent changes in the shooting plan, testing the resilience of the cast and crew.
During this difficult phase, actress Jhansi stepped up to support the team beyond her acting duties. Abhiram shared that Jhansi volunteered to assist as an Assistant Director, taking on significant behind-the-scenes responsibilities to keep the project moving forward.
Payal's character in Happy Journey was designed to portray a woman torn between her own dreams and her parents' expectations. Abhiram noted that the emotional complexity required for this role added depth to the film's narrative.
Among the film's standout moments, the director highlighted the pre-climax scene featuring Annapurnamma and Jhansi. He revealed that the emotions captured in this sequence were entirely genuine, reflecting the real bonds formed during production.
Abhiram also praised Wamcee, describing him as a person who finds joy in life's small moments, despite his reputation for sharp wit. The director affectionately referred to him as 'Bodhidharma' for his philosophical outlook.
Earlier this year, coverage noted that Happy Journey centers on a group of women traveling to Paris, guided by Vamsi and Ravi Shiva Teja. The film's trailer was released last week, drawing attention to its unique premise and ensemble cast.
