Adivi Sesh’s upcoming film Dacoit is making waves with its impressive pre-release business, clocking close to ₹30 crore worldwide as it gears up for an April 10 release. Known for his content-driven choices, Sesh has captured audience attention once again, building solid anticipation for this new project.
Following his recent successes with critically acclaimed films, Sesh teams up with director and production units aiming to deliver another impactful story. Dacoit also stars Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in pivotal supporting roles, adding further strength to the ensemble. The film's promotional material has generated considerable buzz, reflecting strong trade confidence.
The Telugu theatrical rights have been sold robustly, with Andhra Pradesh’s six territories fetching over ₹10 crore and Nizam rights commanding more than ₹7 crore, taking the total Telugu states’ business close to ₹20 crore. Overseas rights contributed an additional ₹6.5 crore, pushing the overall pre-release business to around ₹30 crore. To break even, the Telugu version alone needs to gross over ₹50 crore, a challenging yet achievable target given the pre-release momentum. Notably, the film will release simultaneously in Hindi, targeting a pan-India audience, following the successful model of Sesh’s earlier hit, Major.
With such record pre-release figures, Dacoit is positioned as one of Adivi Sesh’s most significant ventures. Fans and industry watchers eagerly await the film’s opening weekend to see if it can live up to the high expectations and emerge as a major commercial success.
