Adivi Sesh returns to the big screen with Goodachari 2, building on the success of his breakout spy thriller Goodachari. The sequel, currently in production with a budget exceeding ₹100 crore, has already generated significant buzz within the Telugu film industry.

Even before filming is complete, the first review of Goodachari 2 has surfaced. Director Rahul Ravindran, who viewed an early edit with about 70% of the shoot finished, shared his impressions on Letterboxd. He described the film as a major leap for Indian spy thrillers, highlighting its visuals, action sequences, and plot twists. "Holy smoking dragon flame fireballs! ... The bar for Indian spy thrillers is gonna be upped and how! The visuals, the action sequences, the plot, the twists… this is gonna explode in theatres when it releases! Blue flame fireeeee. My boy has upped his game and how!" Ravindran wrote, expressing his excitement about the project.

Ravindran also praised Adivi Sesh’s performance, calling him the best on-screen Indian spy yet, and singled out Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi for their key roles in the film. Goodachari 2 is being produced on a much larger scale than its predecessor, reflecting the growing ambition of Telugu cinema in the action thriller space.

Earlier this year, Sesh announced the film’s budget had crossed ₹100 crore, surprising many fans. With Bollywood’s Dhurandhar recently setting new standards for spy action films, industry watchers are keen to see if Goodachari 2 can surpass those benchmarks, as noted by Ravindran.
