Adivi Sesh, who is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film Dacoit, recently shared candid insights about the journey of his earlier hit Kshanam and its Hindi remake Baaghi 2 during the Hindi promotions of Dacoit. Sesh, known for his sharp scripts and thoughtful storytelling, drew a striking comparison to illustrate how the right platform can transform a film's fate.
Reflecting on Baaghi 2 outperforming Kshanam at the box office, Sesh said, "If you take the Kohinoor diamond and try to sell it at a railway station... people will not buy it, thinking it’s fake. If you sell the same diamond in a Tanishq showroom... people will still be ready to buy it." He credited producer Sajid Nadiadwala for elevating his original idea to a national audience, emphasizing that "the diamond didn’t change, but the platform did."
Meanwhile, producer Supriya Yarlagadda became the center of attention at Dacoit's pre-release event as she revealed the deeply personal story behind the new SS Creations logo. Each element in the logo pays homage to her family’s cinematic and emotional legacy—from Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s panche to her father Surendra’s favorite music. Supriya expressed her joy at relaunching her father’s banner with Dacoit, directed by Shaneil Deo and starring Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap.
With Dacoit set for a grand worldwide release on April 10th, fans are buzzing with anticipation to see if this unique blend of star power and heartfelt storytelling strikes gold at the box office.
