  • Producers are considering a November 2026 or 2027 release, per reports.

  • Akshay Kumar's previous film 'Bhooth Bangla' also faced a date change.

Akshay Kumar's upcoming comic entertainer with director Anees Bazmee and producer Dil Raju is facing a change in release plans. The film, which also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna in key roles, was initially announced for a December 4, 2026 release. Akshay Kumar, known for his steady stream of Bollywood hits, reunites with Bazmee for this project, aiming to deliver another crowd-pleaser.

According to a recent report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers have decided not to go ahead with the previously announced December 4 date. Instead, they are now weighing two options: bringing the release forward to the second half of November 2026, or, if post-production is not completed on time, pushing the release all the way to 2027. This decision comes as Shraddha Kapoor’s film 'Eetha', a biopic on Marathi Tamasha legend Vithabai Narayangaonkar, is also scheduled for a December 4 release. If Akshay Kumar's film moves out of the slot, 'Eetha' could enjoy a solo run during one of the industry's most lucrative periods.

The shift in schedule has sparked discussion among fans and industry trackers, especially given the festive box office window at stake. While no official statement has been released by the makers, the possibility of a 2027 release is now on the table, depending on the film's readiness. Previously, Akshay Kumar's horror comedy 'Bhooth Bangla' also saw a date change earlier this year, reflecting the star's busy calendar and the competitive landscape for big-ticket releases.
