Alia Bhatt and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali are reportedly considering reviving their long-delayed project, Inshallah. The original film, announced in 2019 with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt as leads, was shelved before production began due to creative differences between Salman and Bhansali. Since then, Bhansali moved forward with Gangubai Kathiawadi, which marked his first successful collaboration with Alia, and is currently working with her again on Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
According to recent reports, Bhansali and Alia are now discussing the possibility of bringing Inshallah back to life, but with significant changes to the script and cast. While the basic premise is expected to remain, the story will be reworked to offer a fresh perspective. The revival is being considered only after the completion of Love & War, and the new version will not be identical to the film that was originally planned.
Speculation about the male lead has been ongoing since Salman Khan's exit. Earlier this year, some reports suggested Shah Rukh Khan as a potential replacement, with the film possibly taking shape as a mature love story. However, the latest updates indicate that no actor has been finalised yet. Bhansali is expected to decide on the cast only after the revised script is ready, and there is a possibility that a younger actor could be chosen, depending on the direction the story takes.
For now, the revival of Inshallah remains in the discussion phase, with further details likely to emerge once Bhansali and Alia wrap up their current commitments.
