Anandhi’s Garividi Lakshmi Eyes Long Theatrical Run, Says TG Vishwa Prasad

Anandhi steps into the spotlight as the lead in 'Garividi Lakshmi', a biographical drama that chronicles the life of celebrated Uttarandhra folk singer Garividi Lakshmi. Directed by Gowri Naidu Jammu, the film is set to hit theatres on October 17, 2026, and has already generated buzz with its well-received theatrical trailer.

At a recent pre-release press meet, producer TG Vishwa Prasad addressed questions about the film’s theatre allocation, especially given the competition from other releases. He remarked, “It’s all about commerce. Obviously, big films will take a bigger opening. Ours is not a small film, but it’s a good film. We are arriving on October 17, and we strongly believe that Garividi Lakshmi will have a long run.”

Prasad further expressed optimism about the film’s prospects, stating, “We believe all three films will do well, and that Garividi Lakshmi will pick up steam slowly.” This confidence stems from the film’s focus on the inspiring journey of Garividi Lakshmi, highlighting both the triumphs and challenges she faced.

The positive response to the trailer indicates growing interest among moviegoers, particularly those familiar with the folk legend’s legacy in Andhra Pradesh. As the release date approaches, the production team is banking on word of mouth and the film’s emotional depth to sustain its presence in theatres. With Anandhi in the lead and Gowri Naidu Jammu at the helm, 'Garividi Lakshmi' aims to carve out its own space at the box office this festive season.
