Anil Sunkara, known for backing several Telugu blockbusters, is preparing a strong return to Tollywood by lining up four new films for 2027. After facing setbacks with Chiranjeevi’s 'Bhola Shankar' and Akhil’s 'Agent', which led to significant losses and a temporary break, Sunkara is now in recovery mode and focusing on a fresh slate of productions.
The first of these is 'George Krish', starring Sharwanand and directed by Srinu Vaitla. The film is already in production and is scheduled for a Sankranthi 2027 release, aiming to capture the festive audience. Sunkara has also announced a project with Sai Dharam Tej, directed by Teja, with shooting set to begin in November and a planned summer 2027 release. This marks a notable collaboration, with both actor and director bringing recent successes to the table.
Another film in Sunkara’s lineup features Vaisshnav Tej, with Mahesh S at the helm. Pre-production has been underway for several months, and shooting is expected to commence soon. Rounding out the slate is 'Vaddi Kaasula Vaada', starring Manchu Manoj and directed by Tej Uppalapati. Production on this film began earlier this year, and it is also targeting a 2027 release.
All four projects are being produced under Anil Sunkara’s banner, with each film positioned for release throughout 2027. The producer is aiming for a strong comeback, with a diverse lineup that includes established stars and promising directors.
