Anupama Parameswaran’s upcoming Telugu crime thriller Mareechika is gearing up for a May 29, 2026 release, but anticipation remains muted among filmgoers. The actress, whose last outing in the Tamil movie Lockdown was met with lukewarm response, now steps into a new genre alongside Regina Cassandra and Viraj Ashwin, best known for his role in Baby.

Director Satish Kasetty helms Mareechika, bringing together a cast with notable talent, yet the film has not managed to ignite much curiosity. The trailer, which was recently unveiled, failed to leave a mark on audiences and the project has not sparked significant conversation on social media or fan circles. As per reports, only a handful of viewers seem aware of the film’s impending release date.

The production, bankrolled by Rajiv Chilaka and Meghhaa Chilakka under the Chilaka Productions banner, benefits from the musical genius of Ilaiyaraaja. However, advance bookings have yet to open, hinting at a challenging road ahead for its box office prospects. Mareechika may need to depend on strong word of mouth to draw crowds after release.
