Anushka Shetty Was First Choice for KJQ, Reveals Film’s Backstory

Anushka Shetty and the Telugu film KJQ (King Jackie Queen) are making headlines after it was revealed that the star was the original pick for the film’s lead role. The period crime drama, directed by the late Kiran Kumar, marks his final directorial venture and is drawing attention for its unique journey to the big screen.

During a promotional event hosted by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it came to light that Kiran Kumar had conceived the story nearly 12 years ago with Anushka Shetty in mind for the protagonist. However, the project could not take off at that time. Despite this, Kiran Kumar continued to develop the script over the years, eventually transforming the lead role into the character now played by Yukti Thareja.

Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, KJQ also introduces Shashi Odela, brother of 'The Paradise' director Srikanth Odela, in his acting debut. The film features music by Poornachandra Tejaswi and stars Dheekshith Shetty and Shashi Odela alongside Yukti Thareja.

The film’s promotional content has sparked curiosity among Telugu audiences, especially with the revelation about Anushka Shetty’s initial involvement. As KJQ stands as Kiran Kumar’s final work, the film carries added emotional weight for fans and the team.
