Actor Arya has landed in legal trouble after Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills police registered a criminal case against him and his production team, linked to the film Ananthan Kadu. This development comes as Arya, known for his steady presence in Tamil cinema, continues to balance film projects and production ventures.
The dispute arose after Taher Cine Technic, a Film Nagar-based equipment supplier, filed a formal complaint alleging Arya's team failed to settle dues of ₹1.80 crore for cameras and lighting equipment used to complete the shoot of Ananthan Kadu in Kerala. According to the complaint, the vendor handled the transport and logistics, but payments remained pending even after production wrapped.
Matters escalated when the vendor claimed their attempts to recover the sum were met with intimidation. Police sources report the case has been registered against Arya, producer Vinod, and assistant Kishore on charges of cheating and criminal intimidation. The complaint alleges, "Arya, producer Vinod, and an assistant named Kishore intimidated them when asked to settle the dues."
With an official investigation now underway, the industry and fans alike await further developments. The outcome of this case could have implications for Arya's upcoming projects and his standing in the production community.
