Nandamuri Balakrishna Unveils NBK112, Advocates for Andhra Pradesh Film Industry

Nandamuri Balakrishna made headlines today by launching his highly anticipated project, tentatively titled NBK112, in Amaravati. The formal pooja ceremony saw political figure Nara Lokesh sounding the clapboard, marking the beginning of a new collaboration with acclaimed director Koratala Siva. Coming off a string of successful and impactful films, both Balakrishna and Koratala Siva bring significant expectations to this ambitious venture.

During the launch event, Balakrishna did not mince words about the industry's dynamics. He stated, "Nearly 70% of box-office collections come from Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 30% come from Telangana." According to him, this economic reality demands that more shoots and better infrastructure be established in Andhra, which is responsible for the lion's share of the Telugu film industry's revenue. Balakrishna also pointed out his own track record, claiming to have shot more films in Andhra Pradesh than most other Telugu stars, and urged filmmakers to consider Andhra for their future projects.

NBK112 is being jointly produced by SLV Cinemas and Yuvasudha Arts, with major schedules reportedly planned in Amaravati and surrounding areas. While fan reactions have begun surfacing online, much of the buzz is focused on Balakrishna's call for industry-wide change rather than just the film's content. The project is set to commence its shoot in August 2026, aiming for a grand Summer 2027 release.

As anticipation mounts, all eyes will be on how NBK112 shapes up and whether Balakrishna's appeal for Andhra Pradesh's film sector will resonate with other industry leaders.
