Irani, who has been part of several acclaimed films recently, emphasized that Peddi should not be boxed as just another sports drama. He explained, "If you call Peddi a sports film, it isn’t entirely right. According to me, Peddi is a highly patriotic film... For people living in villages, Peddi will be highly relatable. Peddi is for everyone. Sports is just the backdrop of Peddi," he said. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, the film also features Janhvi Kapoor in a prominent role, with Shiva Rajkumar and Jagapathi Babu adding further depth to the cast. Notably, music composer AR Rahman brings his signature touch to the soundtrack.
As per Irani, the movie seeks to spotlight the untapped talent within rural communities and aims to resonate with both village and urban audiences.
