Kiran Abbavaram’s Chennai Love Story Makes ₹40.1 Cr in Opening Weekend

Kiran Abbavaram has scored a career milestone with Chennai Love Story, which grossed a robust ₹40.1 crore worldwide in its first three days. The romantic drama, directed by debutant Ravi Namburri and produced by Sai Rajesh alongside SKN, saw a strong weekend at the box office, building on the actor’s recent streak of successful films.

Sri Gouri Priya’s performance has emerged as a highlight, with both critics and audiences praising her role. The music, composed by Mani Sharma, is also drawing positive attention. At a recent grand success meet, writer-producer Sai Rajesh shared that the film underwent an unusual post-release change. "After the premieres concluded on Thursday night, I saw tweets saying there were mass walkouts. I just couldn’t take it. I immediately took the feedback into consideration and corrected the film. By the Friday matinee shows, the updated content had been sent to cinema halls. No one knows that we updated the second half," he revealed.

Following initial mixed reviews, Chennai Love Story’s reception has improved steadily, with social media and audience feedback turning increasingly positive. With Monday’s collections off to a good start, the film is projected to cross the ₹50 crore mark in the coming days.
