Chiranjeevi and Vijay Karthik Kannan Team Up for 'Kaaka' Sankranthi 2027

Chiranjeevi is set to return to the big screen in 'Kaaka', a Telugu film directed by Bobby Kolli and featuring cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan. Scheduled for a grand release on January 13, 2027, to coincide with Sankranthi festivities, 'Kaaka' is being closely followed by Telugu cinema fans and industry watchers.

This collaboration comes on the heels of Kannan's notable work in 'Jailer 2', which drew accolades from across the industry. Chiranjeevi himself praised Kannan for his outstanding cinematography, underscoring the actor's commitment to working with top technicians and reinventing his screen persona in recent years. The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad, bringing together a diverse cast that includes Anaswara Rajan, Nivetha Pethuraj, Anurag Kashyap, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Getup Srinu.

In a significant move, Kabir Duhan Singh will play an undercover agent—a positive role that marks a departure from his typical villainous characters. Music for the project is being composed by Thaman, and the production marks KVN Productions' first venture into Telugu cinema.

On set, Anurag Kashyap—who is also acting in the film—shared his admiration for Chiranjeevi, stating that the Megastar "approaches filmmaking with the excitement of a newcomer" and drawing a comparison to Anil Kapoor. Kashyap remarked that working with Chiranjeevi has offered valuable insight into the workings of mainstream Telugu cinema.

Anticipation for 'Kaaka' has grown on social media, with fans sharing excitement over Chiranjeevi’s recent photoshoots and the upcoming Sankranthi release. The film stands as the latest chapter in Chiranjeevi's pattern of strategic collaborations, aiming to blend technical excellence with mass appeal.
