Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Vishwambara has emerged as a pivotal project for UV Creations, especially as the production house seeks to reclaim its box office glory in Telugu cinema. With the film’s lavish scale and high expectations, industry eyes are set on its July release, a date locked in after prolonged VFX-related delays.
UV Creations, known for backing big ventures, has faced a challenging period with a string of underwhelming releases. While "Couple Friendly" brought some relief earlier this year with decent profits, and Sharwanand’s "Biker" earned praise but struggled at the ticket window, the banner’s future now hinges on Vishwambara. Directed by Vassishta, the socio-fantasy entertainer pairs Chiranjeevi and Trisha, with music composed by Keeravani—factors that have amplified anticipation among fans and industry insiders alike.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi also addressed the recent turmoil surrounding the massive leak of Vijay’s "Jana Nayagan," a project from KVN Productions. The leak, which sent shockwaves across social media and deeply distressed the makers, prompted Chiranjeevi to voice his solidarity: "The unfortunate leak of #Jananayagan is something that deeply concerns me. Cinema is built on trust, effort, and the collective dreams of many... My thoughts and support are with the movie team. Let us all take responsibility to respect and protect cinema. Kill Piracy. Save Cinema." His remarks resonated widely, with fans echoing calls to safeguard creative works against piracy.
Adding to the industry’s jitters, the planned launch of Chiranjeevi’s next mass entertainer Mega158, directed by Bobby Kolli and also starring Priyamani, has been postponed. The event was to feature Pawan Kalyan as special guest, but was called off after the Jana Nayagan leak incident. KVN Productions, already grappling with delays on Vijay’s film and Yash’s "Toxic," will announce a new date soon.
