Dhanush and Mammootty’s OM Sets New Release Date for November 20

Dhanush and Mammootty, both National Award-winning actors, are teaming up for the action drama OM, which is now scheduled to hit theatres on November 20, 2026. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, known for his work on Amaran, the film was initially set for an October 16 release to coincide with Dussehra festivities. However, the makers decided to postpone the release as a gesture of respect towards Superstar Rajinikanth, whose film Jailer 2 is arriving in the same period.

The production team also opted to skip the Diwali window, allowing Suriya’s Scene to take the festive slot. The latest announcement was accompanied by a striking poster featuring both Dhanush and Mammootty, generating fresh excitement among fans on social media. OM is produced by Anbuchezhiyan under the Gopuram Films banner, with music composed by Sai Abhyankkar.

The film features Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in prominent roles, adding further star power to the ensemble cast. OM’s narrative is said to shine a light on unsung heroes who blend into everyday society, promising an emotional and action-packed storyline. Earlier this year, reports highlighted that OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood was nearing completion with its final shooting schedule in Malaysia.

Dhanush’s recent birthday celebrations were marked by the makers preparing to unveil the film’s first single, indicating a steady build-up of anticipation. With the new release date confirmed, OM is set to be one of the most awaited action dramas of the year, bringing together some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema.
