Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has taken Indian cinema by storm, crossing an astounding ₹1000 crore worldwide within just seven days of release. Riding on the wave of Ranveer’s electrifying performance and Aditya Dhar’s dynamic direction, the film is setting new benchmarks at the box office. Following the massive success of the original Dhurandhar, which garnered record-breaking Netflix viewership, the sequel continues to expand the franchise’s legacy.

The film’s key scenes were shot at The Lawrence School, Sanawar in Himachal Pradesh – a location steeped in cinematic and historic significance. Notably, Sanjay Dutt, who plays Chaudhary SP Aslam in Dhurandhar 2, is an alumnus of this prestigious institution. The scenic campus, which has also welcomed stars like Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, added a striking backdrop that fans have widely appreciated. The connection between Dutt and the school has sparked a unique buzz among audiences and social media alike.

Trade analysts are optimistic about Dhurandhar’s second weekend, especially with no major releases in Hindi or other languages to challenge its dominance. The upcoming Srirama Navami holiday is expected to further boost its theatrical run, including strong overseas performances, particularly in the USA. Meanwhile, the original Dhurandhar continues to shine on Netflix, recently hitting 26.3 million views, with a surge triggered by the sequel’s theatrical release. This sequel effect has rekindled interest in the franchise, keeping fans engaged across platforms.

Director Harish Shankar, while promoting his own patriotic film Ustaad Bhagat Singh, praised Dhurandhar 2’s exploration of patriotism, highlighting the film’s thematic depth. As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to break records and captivate audiences, all eyes remain on its box office journey and the franchise’s future installments.
