Dil Raju Bets Big on Nagabandham After Recent Box Office Setbacks

Dil Raju, a titan in Telugu film production and distribution, is pinning his hopes on the upcoming mythological action drama Nagabandham after a string of box office disappointments. Having faced setbacks with Biker and Gaayapadda Simham—both of which failed to live up to expectations despite initial buzz—Dil Raju finds himself at a critical juncture.

As per industry sources, Dil Raju has made a significant investment in Nagabandham, acquiring its theatrical rights for the Nizam and Vizag regions. The film, directed by Abhishek Nama and starring Virat Karna alongside Nabha Natesh, is touted for its grand visuals and high production values. The makers have reportedly left no stone unturned in mounting this mythological and periodic action drama, attracting attention for its lavish scale.

While Biker managed to earn decent word-of-mouth but ultimately underperformed, Gaayapadda Simham was labelled a disaster at the box office. In a bid to reverse this streak, Dil Raju is, in the words of the trade, “in plans to bounce back with Nagabandham.” Veteran producer Suresh Babu is also backing the release in other key territories, adding further weight to the film’s distribution muscle.

With the film slated for release on July 3rd, all eyes are on Dil Raju to see if Nagabandham can restore his box office clout and set a new benchmark for mythological entertainers this season.
