Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sequel, Jailer 2, has become the talk of the town, not just for its action-packed anticipation but for the wild speculation swirling around a high-profile cameo. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who is riding high after the original Jailer’s blockbuster success, the film is being produced by Sun Pictures and is now in the final leg of shooting.
The makers reportedly envisioned a powerful cop cameo, aiming to rope in a top-tier star from either Telugu or Hindi cinema. Early discussions involved Nandamuri Balakrishna, who, as per sources, declined the offer, dashing fans’ initial hopes. Later, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan was approached, but he too turned it down, reportedly to "maintain exclusivity of his new look for his upcoming film King." According to reports, this last-minute decision even disrupted the film’s schedule.
Most recently, rumors caught fire suggesting that Pawan Kalyan currently Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy CM and a busy actor—would step into the cameo. However, these claims were quickly dismissed, with sources confirming that Pawan Kalyan politely rejected the proposal due to his political commitments. Fans on social media were quick to laugh off the speculation, pointing out the star’s packed agenda and playfully dismissing the buzz as fanciful.
With all three superstars having declined, the suspense over who will appear in this pivotal cameo remains. As Jailer 2 races toward its August release, fans are eagerly watching to see which surprise name will ultimately share screen space with Rajinikanth.
