Jaya Krishna’s Debut Srinivasa Mangapuram Faces Promotional Hurdles

Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, grandson of Superstar Krishna and son of the late Ramesh Babu, made his Telugu cinema debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram. Backed by a reputed lineage, expectations were high for this launch. The film boasted contributions from notable technicians, including Ajay Bhupathi and music by GV Prakash Kumar, with the production team reportedly investing heavily in its making.

However, the film’s release was marked by a surprising lack of promotional activity. Unlike most major Telugu releases, Srinivasa Mangapuram did not have a pre-release event, and the usual publicity blitz was missing. Superstar Mahesh Babu, a key family figure, supported the project only with a formal video byte, which drew criticism on social media for its limited involvement. Other members of the Ghattamaneni family also maintained a low profile around the film’s launch.

This muted approach led to speculation that the makers were intentionally avoiding overhype. Unfortunately, the strategy backfired: the film opened to weak box office numbers, lagging behind other debutant-led projects without industry backing. Audience response was mixed, and there was no significant improvement in collections by the end of the first day. Post-release, the absence of further promotions or team engagement became evident, with no new posters or updates shared.

Reports have also surfaced that several technicians and actors are yet to receive their full remuneration, as the producers have not cleared all dues. While Jaya Krishna and debut actress Rasha Thadani received some appreciation for their performances, the film was criticized for its outdated plot and lackluster direction. As of now, Srinivasa Mangapuram is being viewed as a major setback for Jaya Krishna’s entry into Tollywood.
