Jr NTR and Koratala Siva’s Devara 2: Is the Sequel Officially Shelved?

Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva’s collaboration for Devara made waves in Telugu cinema, and the film’s recent two-year anniversary saw it return to theatres for a special re-release. However, the occasion left fans disappointed as there was no fresh announcement regarding Devara 2, the much-discussed sequel.

Despite earlier assurances from Yuvasudha Arts producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni that the sequel was progressing, the absence of any update—especially on Jr NTR’s birthday—has only heightened speculation. The silence from both Jr NTR and Koratala Siva has become more pronounced, with no concrete word about the sequel’s status.

Jr NTR, who headlined Devara, is currently committed to Dragon and a mythological film with Trivikram Srinivas, both of which have generated significant buzz. Meanwhile, Koratala Siva is occupied with scripting his next project featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna. These packed schedules for both star and director have pushed Devara 2 further down their list of priorities.

The original Devara, produced by Yuvasudha Arts, had fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up. But as time passes without updates, questions about the sequel’s future are growing louder. As reported in June, the uncertainty around Devara 2 has persisted since the original’s release, with little indication of progress.

For now, only an official statement from the makers can clarify whether Devara 2 will move forward or remain indefinitely on hold. Until then, the fate of the sequel remains unresolved.
