Kajal Aggarwal’s The India Story Faces Low Buzz; Telugu & Tamil Release Delayed

Kajal Aggarwal’s latest film, The India Story, has encountered a lukewarm response ahead of its theatrical outing. The social drama, which puts the spotlight on the dangers of pesticide farming, was set for a multilingual release but now finds itself limited to Hindi screens due to unforeseen delays.

Kajal, who plays an advocate fighting for public health, is joined by Shreyas Talpade in a prominent role. The film is directed by Chettan DK and presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, with Sagar B. Shinde producing. Despite Kajal’s strong following in both Telugu and Tamil cinema, the film’s promotional campaign struggled to generate significant awareness, as reflected in modest advance bookings.

The original plan was to release The India Story simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. However, the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions have yet to clear censor board formalities, causing a last-minute stall for those language releases. Only the Hindi version is proceeding as scheduled, leaving fans in South India waiting longer than expected.

Industry sources note that the film’s fate now hinges on audience word of mouth, as the initial buzz has been underwhelming. With the Telugu and Tamil versions postponed, the team will be hoping for a positive response to the Hindi release to build momentum for the remaining versions.
