Kamakshi Bhaskarla, known for her versatile roles in Telugu cinema, took on a central part in the MS Raju-directed film Agadha, which released in October 2023. The film, also featuring Ulka Gupta and Shravan Reddy, marked another foray into the horror-thriller genre for producer-director MS Raju.
Ahead of Agadha's release, Kamakshi spoke about her immediate interest in the project, stating that she was drawn to the film as soon as MS Raju approached her. She explained, "When Raju garu called me, I immediately understood that the film must have a new concept and an important role. And since it was Raju garu, I immediately said yes." Kamakshi further shared that the story and her character deepened her enthusiasm, emphasizing her focus on the creative process rather than box office outcomes.
Discussing the film's tone, Kamakshi clarified that Agadha leans more towards a thrilling experience than traditional horror. "There aren’t too many outright horror moments in Agadha. It is more of a thrilling experience. There are several divine moments in the film. By the end, everyone will be left with a divine feeling," she said. Having already watched the completed film, Kamakshi recounted being moved to tears by several scenes, noting that sequences which seemed ordinary during filming appeared powerful on screen.
Agadha's release added another distinctive title to MS Raju's directorial journey, with Kamakshi Bhaskarla's performance receiving attention for its emotional depth and sincerity.
