Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated film, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, launched yesterday but unfortunately registered a lacklustre start at the box office. The film, which dramatizes the events of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks at Cama Hospital, managed to earn just ₹1 crore nett on its first day, a figure that has left many in the industry surprised.
Kangana, who once enjoyed a golden streak with audiences, has recently faced challenges in drawing moviegoers to theatres. Her recent choices have been met with mixed response, and this latest release continues the trend. Manoj Tapadia penned and directed the thriller, with Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, and Esha Dey playing pivotal roles alongside Kangana, who also took on the role of producer.
Despite a Buy One Get One ticket offer rolled out to boost attendance, trade sources report that footfalls remained low. The offer is set to continue through the weekend, but so far, it has not translated into higher collections. Social media and fan circles have expressed disappointment, hoping for a stronger comeback from the acclaimed actress.
With the weekend ahead, all eyes are on whether Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata can pick up momentum or if Kangana will need to rethink her strategy for future projects.
