Kiran Abbavaram, known for his recent streak of hits like KA, K-Ramp, and Chennai Love Story, took a bold step with the announcement of his mythological action-fantasy film, Indraputra. This project, produced by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, signaled a significant shift in Kiran’s career, as he moved from thrillers and love stories to a grand mythological universe.
Directed by debutant Srikanth Puppala, who previously contributed to Kantara Chapter 1, Indraputra was positioned as the first installment in a planned mythological series. The film’s narrative, rooted in Indian mythology, promised to explore the timeless conflict between dharma and adharma, blending fantasy, action, and emotion. Kiran Abbavaram was set to appear in a powerful new avatar, a move that generated considerable interest among his fans and industry watchers.
The story was crafted by Keerthan, with the screenplay handled by Tanvi N Dutta. Keerthan and Kussum Arora joined as co-producers, further strengthening the film’s creative team. According to reports, the project was scheduled to begin filming in October 2023, with the makers aiming for a pan-India reach and the ambition to launch a larger mythological universe.
