Varun Tej's Korean Kanakaraju Sets Box Office Buzz With Record Advance Sales

Varun Tej’s latest supernatural comedy, Korean Kanakaraju, is off to a roaring start, selling over 10,000 tickets for premiere shows on BookMyShow and closing in on the $100,000 mark for North American premieres. The film, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations alongside First Frame Entertainments, marks a shift for Varun Tej after a run of intense action roles. This time, he promises a full-fledged entertainer, telling fans he wanted to "offer a stress-busting experience" and ensure audiences "simply relax and enjoy a good laugh for two and a half hours in the theater."

The film’s promotions, including catchy posters, teasers, and soundtrack, have driven anticipation, resulting in several shows across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana selling out swiftly. Responding to heavy demand, additional premiere shows have been added in both Telugu states, and more US locations are screening the movie. Varun Tej and comedian Satya, who share the screen for a third time, underwent extensive prep to master the Rayalaseema dialect. Varun noted, "We did a lot of hard work for this film. I am very happy with the response we are already getting."

With energetic bookings and strong early word of mouth, Korean Kanakaraju is poised for a grand theatrical debut on August 7.
